Leech
Lake Head Start is
licensed
through
the Leech Lake Reservation and is funded to serve 245 children
throughout our six sites, which total 13 classrooms. Our
classrooms are open nine months a year, Monday - Thursday, from 9:00
a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. and our bus runs range from across the street to 140 miles
round
trip.
Our enrollment
priorities are as follows:
- Children with a Diagnosed Disability
- Returning Students
- Low Income Families
- High Risk Children: single parents / foster children /
living with grandparents / incarcerated parents
- Children of Leech Lake Tribal Members
- Children of other Federally Recognized Tribes
- Children eligible for kindergarten or who have not received
Head Start services
- Children of non-tribal members
- Children who turn three between September 1 - December 31 (enrollment purposes for outer centers only)
