Parent Aware:
Minnesota's Quality Rating System
What is Minnesota's
Parent
Aware Progam?
Parent Aware was designed by child care providers,
early learning professionals and parents, Minnesota's voluntary Parent
Aware Program is intended to support our state's children by creating a
rating system which identifies, recognizes and celebrates quality in
early education. |
The Parent Aware Program will initially launch as a three-year pilot
that includes licensed child care providers/early educators in three
Twin Cities metro locations: the City of St. Paul, north Minneapolis
and the Wayzata Public School District.
Child care providers/early educators may volunteer to participate in
the program and will have provider support specialists available to
help them through the process. Participating programs will
receive resources, quality support, marketing materials, and unique
opportunities to increase the visability of their programs.
Joining on the "ground floor" as the program gets underway will allow
educators to proudly demonstrate that they are delivering the best care
or are on the road to reaching this excellence. For more info: click

1.
Provide Web-based
parent tools designed to meet specific needs and concerns of parents
related to their child's development, learning and health.

Give parents
confidence that Minnesota cares about their child's growth, learning,
development and education beginning at birth and continuing through
grade 12.
3.
Serve as an
outreach to families with children who may need early intervention
services to prevent future need for special education or more intensive
services.

12,000 children in Minnesota have a parent in the National Guard. With
the recent extension of deployments, many of these families are facing

for children and families in your community.
